Oxygen glows down in history

Monday, June 17th, 2019

An ULTIMATE highlight of 2018 (literally one large, impressive high-light, standing over 25′ tall) was our end of year collaboration with PUBLIC Hotels…

Not only did we have the great pleasure of collaborating and producing with PUBLIC Hotels and Ian Schrager again, but we were able to bring more light upon the holiday season and create a new winter experience for New York City…

The new idea:
It all started with one simple image that sparked Ian Schager’s desire to have this 25′ glowing, neon tree outside his Lower East Side hotel…

The PUBLIC Hotels team presented this to us in early December and in true Oxygen style we spun all of our creative wheels to get this project moving (and quickly!), bringing the ‘PUBLIC Christmas Tree’ dream to life in a matter of weeks.

The new technology:
It took over 400 Waterproof LED Astera Sphere’s all with AX3 light drops controlled inside to achieve this effect. The sphere’s ranged in size from 8″ to 40″ and the bright, illuminated balls were a mix of neon greens, blues, reds, yellows and pinks.

The new technique:
Every sphere was individually attached and sewn into the mesh that blanketed the sturdy truss frame and system. Each a crucial piece to the magic puzzle we erected; and in just two days we transformed PUBLIC’s Chrystie Garden into a mountain of captivating color.

The result:
A new experience for New York City!

New video technology: OLED Screens

Monday, June 17th, 2019

Adidas launched their new EQT range at NY33 and needed something extra to showcase their new collection. They brought us in to do just that!

Transparent OLED screens are the latest toy in event production! OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. Standard Transparent LCD screens require a backlight, however OLED transparent screens are able to display images without a backlight.

We provided these at this event. We configured four 55″ transparent OLED screens into one. This provided a great solution for viewing the product, whilst making the venue appear more open with the transparency of the screens. Transparent OLED screens are able to display images without a backlight and can be placed in the middle of a room or integrated into a wall.

When it comes to creating unique design elements and showcasing a brand at an event, these screens allow the possibility of integrating static real-life objects with any choice of digital content. This can enable images, text and video to be incorporated with different objects and provide greater customer engagement.

Most Effective AV Equipment on a Budget

Monday, June 17th, 2019

As an event planner, whether new or a veteran, it can be tricky to find effective audio visual gear when dealing with budgetary constraints. We’ve accumulated the most cost efficient, yet highly impactful equipment to make your event POP!

1.Pinspots

The beauty of the pinspot is it is convenient, yet impactful. They are wireless and magnetic, allowing them to be put almost anywhere with ease – simplicity without the hassle of messy cables or locating a power source. The 19 ounce weight and tiny 8.5” x 1.5” size, adds to the effortless nature of them. Pinspots can run for 14 hours at full intensity, are dimmable and can be angled to highlight a feature with great precision.

2.LED Glow Balls

A relatively new piece to the Oxygen inventory, LED glow balls are a must have for the summer season! LED glow balls are waterproof and can be individually manipulated to change color on demand. Ranging from 1-3’ they are the perfect way to add a pop of color to a pool party or outdoor event. Ready to get your glow on?

3.Pixel Tubes

An Oxygen all time favorite is the pixel tube. At 40” long, these tubes are wireless, battery operated and can stay illuminated for up to 12 hours. They have an awesome 180 degree viewing angle and are conveniently remote control operated. They are super light, making it seamless to suspend them from the ceiling, attach them to walls or furniture, and place inside translucent objects (how about that lonely bar?). The colour variety is vast, allowing for mixed RGB colors, with the ability to be separated and managed into 8 pixels.

4.Powered Speaker

This classic speaker is powerful, portable and versatile. It guarantees you the most bang for your buck! A loud, encapsulating sound is what it provides, making it ideal as a small PA or stage monitor. This economical loudspeaker allows sound to be tuned, to accentuate a speaker’s voice or add depth to any bass. The standard 35mm pole can be adjusted to direct sound anywhere in the space. Cables can be neatly tucked and hid with some simple black duvetyne to complete the look.

5.Uplights

You can’t go wrong with an uplight. Wireless, battery-operated with RGBAW+UV AND customized colour options. Uplights allow for multiple wireless triggering and control options and have a built in shield to prevent light spillage. Seamless fading, white enclosure boxes (for that all white space!) and the minimal size and weight are all features of the uplight which make it so appealing. Great for highlighting spatial features and distinct architecture, adding the wow factor to any venue and event. If you’re looking for the most simple yet effective way to add attractive light to a space, you can’t go past an uplight.

Did you hear? We have one of the best club sound systems in the world!

Monday, June 17th, 2019

To our surprise and DELIGHT, Mixmag voted Brooklyn’s Good Room as one of the Top 10 Venues in the WORLD for SOUND!

And, none other than…

OXYGEN designed and installed The Good Room’s d&b Audiotechnik sound system earlier this year!

Mixmag said of our permanent sound installation that Good Room is:

“an East Coast favorite, beloved for its inclusive parties and top-notch d&B Audiotechnik system”.

While we are surprised that our work in Good Room was chosen out of the thousands of nightclubs world-wide, we aren’t surprised that our work in crafting crystalline sound was recognized by the top expert audiophiles globally.

As you probably know, all our events use d&b Audiotechnik whether for corporate speeches, cocktail music or dance parties and we take the same care to curate an exceptional sound experience for those events as we did for Good Room.
